You will help to raise our export control maturity to bring competitive advantage for the company and mitigate potential exposure to penalties, debarment, consent agreements etc

Who we are looking for: Reporting directly to the Head of Airbus Export Control Commercial Aircraft - UK, the Export Control Manager - Belfast is responsible for developing and implementing export control compliance across all relevant jurisdictions, notably the national and the US regulations that Airbus UK is subject to. You excel at multitasking and know how to set priorities in order to meet tight deadlines How you will contribute:
- You will ensure compliance with licences and other export requirements, laws and regulations, end-use and regulatory reporting obligations, as well as the Airbus Export Controls Directives and Methods
- You will represent Airbus in export control matters with government agencies (e.g., ECJU) and commercial working groups.
- You will request and manage export licences and agreements, preliminary inquiries or special procedures under UK, European and US export control laws, including monitoring and legal reporting
- You will monitor, assess, decide, control and document the export control related processes of Airbus, including licensing, the use of licence exceptions, etc.
- You will manage and monitor audits (internal and external) on the premises of Airbus and at sites with Airbus stake or industrial leadership in the UK and Ireland, and implement audit recommendations
- You will prepare, coordinate and implement appropriate training at all sites of Airbus UK and locations with Airbus stake or industrial leadership in the UK and Ireland
- You will monitor and assist Airbus subsidiaries (or industrial leadership) with respect to export control in the UK and Ireland
- You will advise and support all areas involved in export control (Airbus internally, external suppliers and service providers), with respect to ensuring necessary authorisations are in place and taking into account the specific terms and conditions.
- You will also engage constructively with managers and staff from other Airbus functions to raise awareness of export controls and identify and mitigate export control risks
- You will continuously improve internal processes of the department and optimise export control practices and deployment of automation tools in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Airbus Export Control Directives and Methods.
- You will work closely and collaboratively with the UK Commercial Export Control team and wider Airbus export control function to create efficiencies and consistency in the approach to compliance.
- You will be required to be able to be security cleared to a UK SC level.
- You have experience working in a multinational environment advising on international trade, sanctions and export control matters;
- You will ideally have strong knowledge of UK aerospace industrial export environment (or similar) - specifically UK, EU, US export controls
- IT skills: working knowledge of the Microsoft Pack Office and SAP
