Job Description: Subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvalsROLE PURPOSEReporting to the Head of EHS in Belfast, the Environment Officer will lead operational environmental compliance and improvements for Airbus Belfast. Key responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing environmental performance, and achieving internal objectives. As the primary contact for environmental matters, the officer will support the Belfast Leadership Team, deputize for the Head of EHS, and represent Airbus in relevant forums. The role involves maintaining ISO 14001 compliance, managing environmental risks and opportunities, and driving sustainability through eco-design and technology. The officer will also oversee Airbus’ environmental policy deployment, lead audit programs, and engage with stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

- Implement, monitor and continually improve the Airbus Environmental Management system and take accountability for compliance with the ISO 14001 standard at Belfast.
- Comply with EMS central and national procedures.
- Support environmental objectives (plant level, national level, central level).
- Risk and opportunities identification and management including identification of the contextual relevant environmental information and communicating it to the corresponding stakeholders at site, at Belfast EHS level and nationally/transnationally as appropriate.
- Ensure the availability of accurate consolidated environmental data and information to contribute to Airbus environmental communication and reporting obligations.
- Ensure appropriate actions are in place to continuously ensure environmental compliance on national regulatory requirements and to evaluate this compliance.
- Identify, evaluate and compliance assessment (environmental regulations, European, national and local).
- Environmental licences and authorizations management, to secure Airbus licences to operate by compliance with existing limits and the anticipation and application for future deviations or new permits.
- Coordinate data consistency between internal/external reporting and forecasts made by local MFT
- Strong, current working knowledge of applicable legislation guidance and best practice.
- Ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
- Proven communications skills.
- Ability to write clear, concise, plain English documentation to a high standard.
- Ability to professionally interact at all hierarchical levels within Airbus and with external stakeholders
- A strong understanding of relevant software and the use of databases such as FISH and EPPS.
- Proven record of achievement and delivery within an operational environment.
- Previous experience working in an operational environmental role.
- Previous experience supporting the operational environment within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three years experience working within the framework of formal Environment management systems including ISO14001
- Empathetic and supportive of both individuals and the company.
- A reliable, conscientious ‘completer / finisher’ who takes pride in adding value for the customer.
- Willing to diplomatically and objectively challenge individuals and organisations at all levels.
- Committed to continuing their professional development.
- Ability to deliver consistently to internal and external deadlines
