Do you have a flair for communications and a passion for making a positive impact in local communities? Are you ready to play a vital role in shaping the future of Northern Ireland’s energy landscape?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Communications & Engagement Executive to join a fast-paced and purpose-driven team in Belfast. This is your chance to be part of a mission to transform the electricity grid—making it cleaner, more sustainable, and future-ready.

About the Role

You’ll be at the heart of a dynamic Corporate Affairs team, supporting the delivery of key public engagement and communication initiatives for vital energy infrastructure projects. From working with local communities to liaising with stakeholders, media and elected officials—you’ll help ensure our projects are understood, supported, and delivered with transparency and integrity.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement campaigns

  • Managing communications across digital platforms, media relations, public affairs, and local events

  • Collaborating with grid infrastructure teams, external consultants, and public representatives

  • Helping shape and improve how we engage with communities, councils, and developers

  • Providing out-of-hours communications support when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years’ experience in a communications, engagement or related role

  • A degree in communications, planning, journalism, politics—or 3 years’ relevant experience

  • Proven experience creating compelling communications for projects or public initiatives

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit

  • A genuine passion for community engagement

  • Basic understanding of energy and infrastructure

  • A full, clean driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience organising community or stakeholder events

  • Knowledge of the local planning system and local government

  • Experience working directly with local communities

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a forward-thinking organisation that’s shaping the future of clean energy. We offer a rewarding and flexible work environment, alongside a package that includes:

  • Competitive salary & performance-related bonus

  • Private medical insurance & enhanced pension contributions

  • Cycle to Work & EV leasing schemes

  • Flexible start/finish times and hybrid working

  • 25+ days holiday & free on-site parking (with EV charging)

Ready to Make a Difference?

This is more than just a communications role—it’s a chance to be a key player in Northern Ireland’s journey toward a net zero energy future. If you're motivated by meaningful work, community impact, and the opportunity to grow, we want to hear from you.
