Department Purpose
Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm's business objectives, which includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients' trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central teams and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients
Role Purpose
The Senior Marketing Assistant will support the Business Development (BD) team, providing day-to-day support on a variety of marketing and business development projects: winning new business (helping to produce effective client-facing brochures), growing key client and sector relationships, and raising the profile of one of our practice groups and its partners. The successful applicant will work closely with the practice group's Business Development team and with wider business development and marketing team members from other practice groups and with other support areas such as Finance, Know-How, Document Production, Creative Services and Marketing Technology. This role will suit someone who is highly organized and efficient, who enjoys a fast-paced work environment, dealing with a variety of work

Other internal teams such as Library and Research, Creative Services, Document Production, Events, Campaigns and Content, Social Media, Digital Marketing
What you will do
The role will require someone who is highly organised, efficient and enjoys getting the job done. The job will include but not be limited to:
Helping to coordinate virtual and in-person events that the team host throughout the year. This will include: initial planning, finalising content, drafting both internal and external communications, providing support on the day of the event, and being the first point of contact for any logistical queries for clients. Will also coordinate and manage client hospitality events and conferences for fee earners
Supporting award submissions and directory submissions of the practice to the legal directories, including working closely with the associates on matter write ups, with the partners to approve the submissions and their referees, and then with the researchers of the directories to secure interviews and drive the best possible ranking
In conjunction with the Creative Services team, creating client facing materials including brochures, inserts and contact cards
Collating information for and helping to produce tailored CVs, credentials statements, and proposals
Creating and maintaining practice infrastructure to track proposals, pricing, and client feedback, and working with the BD team to ensure systems are kept up to date
Working closely with knowledge lawyers and internal teams to bring thought leadership to market across multiple channels, e.g., blogs, podcasts, bulletins updating the relevant sections of the website and intranet as required
Producing financial reports to provide background information on specific clients
Coordinating Vuture mailings for the group
Supporting content and profile-raising activities, with a particular focus on internal and external communications
Using internal and external data to spot trends and opportunities in the market, and as required responding to ad-hoc research requests

Supporting the BD team with BD and marketing initiatives and other inputs as required
Key Requirements
The role would ideally suit someone with some professional services BD experience. This is an excellent opportunity to develop marketing and BD experience within the legal environment. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and possess the following attributes and skills:
Previous Marketing or Business Development experience, preferably in the professional services environment
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Ability to demonstrate initiative and generate ideas
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particular skills with Excel and PowerPoint preferred
Eye for design/creativity (e.g. for presentations, proposals and events)
Ability to work well under pressure and to drive through major projects to completion
Ability to process and analyse business data and research
Good organisational and administration skills/ability to multi-task
Good interpersonal skills, able to confidently interact with all levels and across cultures
Desirable
A basic understanding of the financial services sector would be an advantage
