You will be responsible for leading and managing a talented team, overseeing the buying and merchandising strategy, and ensuring the continued profitability and success of their operations across retail and online.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing buying and merchandising team, ensuring a collaborative, results-driven environment.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key brand partners and suppliers to enhance product offerings and negotiate optimal terms.
- Develop and drive strategy to achieve margin targets, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accountability for stock management, ensuring optimal stock levels, fast stock turn, and minimisation of aged stock.
- Develop and manage sales and stock planning to optimise profitability across all product categories.
- Oversee the creation of detailed reports, providing insights on sales performance, margin analysis, and stock performance.
- Drive margin growth by analysing market trends, competitor activity, and consumer demand, adjusting the assortment and buying strategies accordingly.
- Lead the process for seasonal buys and product launches, ensuring the selection aligns with brand positioning, customer demand, and market trends.
- Proven experience in a senior buying and merchandising role, ideally within the premium or luxury retail sectors.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with suppliers, brands, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of stock management, sales planning, and margin optimisation.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse complex reports and take action based on insights.
- A passion for luxury brands, trends, and an understanding of high-end customer expectations.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with an eye for detail.
