Job Description: Subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvals Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership to Enablement Team ensuring they are suitably developed and empowered to support operations in way of M/C tooling, hand tooling and production consumable items within their area of responsibility
    • Leading and task managing a diverse team of Enablement team members.
    • Cost reduction and implementation of lean manufacturing tools and techniques
    • Ensure EHS and Airworthiness standards are met and drive the Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP) process to identify and implement potential improvements.
    • Development of future Strategies for the Enablement area including introduction of new technologies, digitalization and processes
    • Support Projects and liaise with key stakeholders
    • Support the management and review of the business NPO, NRC and CAPEX budgets within assigned targets.
    • Provide financial planning & control and Change Management support to the business along with the co-ordination of support to operations
    • Subordinate employees (FTE headcount)
    • Main activities
    • Provide day to day support to operations in way of M/C tooling, hand tooling and production consumable items with a view to reducing consumption and waste, in line with current lean manufacturing principles.
    • Working with management and review of the business NPO, NRC and Capex budgets within assigned targets.
    • Support the robust management and review process is in place for NPO achievement, incorporating key stakeholders
    • Facilitate SQCDP continuous improvement activities highlighted within the business.
    • Ensure a robust management and resource process is in place for the successful implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects. Direct, lead, support, coach and develop all reports to ensure all key processes are adhered to and business objectives are achieved.
    • Ensure a robust management and review process is in place for local cost reduction projects
    • Development and Implementation of a local tooling strategy including contingency planning and the development of Planned Preventative Maintenance and deployment of TPM (light).
    • Support local rate readiness with respect to tooling, equipment and facilities.
    • Accountability for local tool calibration and control.
    • Ensure a robust management and resource process is in place for the successful implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects. Direct, lead, support, coach and develop all reports to ensure all key processes are adhered to and business objectives are achieved.
    • Facilitate SQCDP continuous improvement activities highlighted within the business
    • Ensure a robust management and review process is in place for local cost reduction projects
    • Development/deployment of 5-10 year Tooling Strategy for new tooling and processes
    • Development and planning to ensure Enablement/Stores/Tooling is rate capable to meet future build rates
    • Support the completion of all Risk and PUWER assessments in a timely manner to enable the effectivity of new design tooling.
    • Add value through operational Excellence and implementation of AOS bricks and Continuous improvement for enablement teams.
    • Direct responsibility for developing an effective relationship with operational Customers (Shift Managers and OTMs) to give effective optimum support to Production and productivity
    • Train and develop performance staff as appropriate to fulfil day to day tasks
    • Ensure improvements to safe working environment are driven through departmental objectives and management
    • Identify trends in performance through ANDON/KPI (OOL ) systems to create improvement plans to rectify negatives

    Skills

    • Applicants will be highly motivated; customer focused and will have a proven capability of planning and delivering improvement projects.
      • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work with a level of autonomy.
      • Educated to HND / degree level or be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of experience.
      • Knowledge of EHS processes & procedures.
      • Capable of interpreting Engineering drawings and technical data.
      • Capable of liaising with Suppliers / Customers on Manufacturing and technical issues.
      • Effective communication skills for liaising with a wide range of people and departments within the Company.
      • Practical knowledge of financial planning and control.
      • Project Management capability.
      • Practical knowledge of aircraft construction, Quality System and Airworthiness requirements.
      • Working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
      • Familiarity with the Supply Chain.
      • Financial - Procurement awareness.
      • Trained to FLM level.
      • SAP systems & processes.
      • Knowledge of AOS, Lean tools & techniques.
