Our Pensions Advisory business continues to grow and we are now looking for qualified actuaries to join our GMP Equalisation Team. This is an exciting senior role and would most likely suit someone who enjoys the technical aspects of actuarial work, with plenty of defined benefit pensions experience.

The Role
We are looking for a number of qualified pensions actuaries to join our GMP Equalisation team. We have a unique approach to solving the problems around GMP and are looking for technically minded people to join our friendly and supportive team.
Though previous experience in GMP calculations is an advantage, a desire and ability to grasp complex actuarial concepts and find solutions to them is a requirement.

In this role you will be working as part of the GMP team to assist clients in equalising pensions for their scheme members. This includes but is not limited to:

Role
In this role you will be working as part of the GMP team to assist clients in equalising pensions for their scheme members. This includes but is not limited to:
- Working with and understanding member data
- Reviewing and signing off on complex calculations
- Reviewing and signing off on written advice to clients on this topic
- Communicating results to client teams and supporting them as you work through the projects together. Can include, if desired, delivering advice to clients in meetings.
- Regular liaison and communication with the GMP team, client team and other departments in XPS.
- Opportunity to get involved in specialist research and development teams in areas that interest you. These teams provide resources and ideas for the wider team.
- Training and managing more junior colleagues as they embark on their actuarial career
Essential Criteria
- FIA qualification
- Extensive experience in DB pensions industry, in an actuarial role
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- keen interest in actuarial concepts, the wider pensions industry and financial landscape
- An inquisitive mind and a desire to learn
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed
- Ability to problem solve and come up with solutions
- Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
- Adaptable and a team-player
