The Grant Thornton Advisors (NI) Tax Team is a growing team of over 70 specialists with deep industry, sector and technical knowledge. Our Corporation Tax Compliance client base is experiencing exceptional growth across all industries and sectors, with a strong focus on OMB’s and large groups, both in the local market and on an international scale.
We are seeking to recruit a talented, ambitious leader to join our Corporate Tax Compliance team as Associate Director/Director in Belfast to build on our continuing momentum and seize the significant opportunities ahead.
As Associate Director/Director, you will use your technical knowledge and experience to help lead an established team and play an active role supporting the firm’s Partners in developing new business.

Main responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
- Autonomy to lead engagements to deliver corporate tax compliance services to a portfolio of clients that are sizable in both scope and scale by proactively providing intelligent and creative solutions to complex technical tax issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert for specific tax issues associated with large corporates including corporate interest restriction, Country-by-Country reporting and SAO.
- Review and approve corporation tax deliverable ensuring all comply with relevant tax laws while identifying and evaluating potential risks and opportunities.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding the clients business, strategy and goals.
- Pivotal role in identifying opportunities to provide additional services to new and existing clients.
- Seek to improve and oversee robust process for tax compliance services, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
- Actively manage financial operations of the team, delivering on budgets and meeting own financial targets set.
- Leads, manages, motivates and coaches a team of tax professionals providing guidance and technical support.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider firm and third party stakeholders to provide integrated services.
- ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
- Significant post qualification experience of working in a corporation tax department of large practice. Experience within a Big Four or top-tier professional services firm is desirable, although equivalent experience in industry will be considered.
- Significant time spent in leadership capacity, taking a proactive interest in the team's performance, development and wellbeing.
