Your new role
The Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in optimising procurement processes to ensure the efficient and seamless delivery of vital services. You will be responsible for cultivating sourcing strategies, negotiating prices and contracts, and reviewing technical specifications for all purchased items/services including equipment and services.
Key responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement policies and procedures tailored to the organisation\'s needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Research and compile procurement guidelines from various commissioners in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

  • Ensure procurement processes align with these guidelines to maintain compliance and secure funding.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads and finance, to understand specific procurement needs and requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Create proposals and requests for quotes in line with customer and project requirements

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions to sure the best value for money.

  • Develop and implement a risk management strategy for the procurement process.

  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement contingency plans to mitigate potential risks.

  • Provide training for staff involved in the procurement process to ensure understanding and adherence to new policies.

  • Raise awareness about the importance of procurement compliance, value for money, and operational efficiency, emphasising their impact on the organisation\'s mission.

  • Develop and execute a phased implementation plan for new procurement policies and procedures, focusing on generating efficiencies and optimising costs.

  • Implement a system for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the procurement process, with a specific emphasis on value for money and operational efficiency.

  • Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in regulations or organisational needs.

  • Establish reporting mechanisms to provide transparency on procurement activities, emphasising cost savings, compliance, and efficiency improvements.

  • Ensure our fleet of vehicles and drivers are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations and also with internal policies.

  • Line management of the Fleet Officer


What you\'ll need to succeed
Essential



  • Degree level qualification

  • Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or working towards

  • Demonstrate proven contract preparation, negotiation and networking

  • Demonstrate leading negotiations for contracts and having a sound knowledge of legal and contractual issues.

  • Demonstrate conducting market analysis and make data-driven procurement decisions.

  • Demonstrate developing and implementing comprehensive procurement policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the procurement process.


Desirable



  • Experience gained in the social care or healthcare sector.

  • Understanding of management of fleet activities
