  • Senior, hands-on developer role building a new platform for securing AI agents
  • Domain: cloud services, secure APIs and SDKs for agent identity, authorisation and assurance
  • Hybrid, Belfast
  • Competitive salary plus bonus (to be confirmed)
  • Join an early team at a global security leader and own significant parts of a brand new platform

About the Company

Our client is a global leader in identity, payments and data security, trusted by governments, banks and enterprises around the world. With decades of expertise in public key infrastructure, digital identity and cryptographic security, it protects the people, devices and transactions modern business runs on. It is now bringing that expertise to AI, building a trusted foundation for agent identity, authority, execution and assurance, and is growing a team in Northern Ireland to deliver it.

The Role

As a Senior Software Developer you'll design, build, test and run significant capabilities of the new platform, delivering complex features independently with limited oversight. You'll understand how your services fit into the wider platform architecture and make sound implementation trade-offs within agreed standards. You'll work closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Quality Engineering and Cloud Operations, and act as a go-to technical resource for the wider team. It suits a developer who enjoys owning features end to end and takes security, reliability and maintainability seriously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, document, deploy and support complex product capabilities and cloud services
  • Develop secure APIs, services, integrations, SDKs and data flows aligned with platform architecture and interface contracts
  • Break ambiguous requirements into practical designs and incremental delivery plans
  • Write maintainable code backed by automated tests
  • Take an active part in code, design, security and operational-readiness reviews
  • Apply secure development, privacy, observability, resilience and performance practices throughout
  • Collaborate with Product, Quality Engineering, Security and Cloud Operations to resolve dependencies and defects
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, take part in incident response and implement lasting fixes
  • Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to documentation and team standards

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • 5+ years' professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language
  • Experience building services and APIs with data stores in cloud environments
  • Experience with automated testing, source control, CI/CD, debugging and production support
  • Working knowledge of application security, distributed systems and agile development
  • Clear communication and the ability to deliver high-quality work with increasing independence
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Experience with identity, authentication, authorisation, PKI, cryptography or zero-trust systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, event-driven systems or high-scale SaaS
  • Familiarity with agentic AI, MCP, LLM integrations or software for regulated, security-sensitive environments

Why Apply?

  • Competitive salary plus bonus
  • Hybrid working from Belfast
  • Generous annual leave
  • Comprehensive benefits package, details on request
  • Be part of the founding team for a new platform in Northern Ireland
  • Work on a genuinely new problem space: trust and security for AI agents
  • The stability and scale of a global security leader
