KEY RESULT AREAS / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the delivery of planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance for mechanical systems across the NIAS estate, including HVAC, Building Management Systems (BMS), and pressure systems.
• Act as Authorised Person (AP) for mechanical systems.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of mechanical maintenance teams, ensuring efficient workload planning, and performance monitoring.
• Support the investigation and resolution of mechanical system failures, including fault diagnosis, incident response, and implementation of remedial actions.
• Utilise the Trust’s CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) system to manage maintenance tasks, ensure timely completion, and inform forward planning.

• Supervise external contractors, ensuring effective use of permit-to-work systems, RAMS approval, and quality assurance.
• Provide technical advice and professional guidance during service interruptions and equipment failures.

• Ensure all mechanical engineering systems and maintenance activities comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
• HTMs (particularly HTM 03 – Ventilation, HTM 04 – Water Safety, and HTM 06 series as applicable)
• Pressure Systems Safety Regulations
