Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will lead a small finance team and ensure the delivery of accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls and efficient financial operations across the business.Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day finance function and overseeing transactional finance activities.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Managing cash flow, working capital and credit control activities.
- Supporting the optimisation and development of finance systems and reporting tools.
- Producing financial analysis and business insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensuring timely completion of tax returns and statutory obligations.
- Leading the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors.
- Driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls across the organisation.
- Supporting the Finance Director with commercial and operational projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will be a professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting and commercial finance skills.You will also demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar position.
- Strong financial reporting and financial analysis capabilities.
- Experience managing or mentoring a finance team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel and strong IT systems knowledge.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Desirable experience includes:
- Exposure to Sage Intacct, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Experience within a manufacturing or product-based environment.
- Systems implementation or finance transformation experience.
- Knowledge of product costing and operational finance processes.
