Hays Accountancy & Finance are working with a highly successful, internationally recognised professional services organisation to recruit a Payroll & Finance Assistant for their growing finance team. Your New Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the end-to-end management of payroll and pension administration across multiple jurisdictions. You will ensure payroll processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with all relevant legislative requirements.Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating monthly payroll processes, including joiners, leavers, salary amendments and statutory leave changes with external payroll providers.
• Reviewing payroll reports, reconciliations and submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Managing pension administration activities, including monthly contributions and regulatory requirements.
• Performing payroll ledger, pension, PAYE and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparing payroll-related information for year-end audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Assisting with annual submissions including P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements.
• Analysing freelancer and contractor costs across the business.
• Supporting monthly project reviews and closure processes alongside operational and finance stakeholders.
• Completing regulatory and statistical reporting requirements.
• Maintaining payroll policies, procedures and internal documentation.
• Working closely with HR, finance colleagues and external bodies regarding payroll and pension matters.
• Supporting the Financial Controller and wider finance team with ad hoc finance duties and process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience managing UK payroll and pension administration.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory deductions.
• Experience completing payroll reconciliations and payroll-related reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive approach and willingness to continually develop technical knowledge.
• The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
