Audit Senior

Salary: £45,000–£50,000
Location: Belfast
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for a qualified Audit professional to join an established Audit & Assurance team, taking greater ownership of client assignments and developing towards management-level responsibility.

You’ll work with clients across a variety of sectors, leading audit fieldwork, preparing financial statements and supporting junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the planning and completion of audit assignments.
• Lead audit fieldwork, including substantive and analytical testing.
• Prepare and review audit files, ensuring documentation meets required standards.
• Produce statutory financial statements from client information.
• Identify key risks or areas of concern and communicate these to Managers and Partners.
• Manage assignments through to finalisation and senior review.
• Build strong relationships with clients and become a trusted point of contact.
• Support the delivery of portfolio budgets, deadlines and profitability targets.
• Coach, mentor and review the work of junior audit colleagues.
• Work across a varied portfolio of clients and industries.

Ideal Candidate

• ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualified.
• Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Experience managing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience auditing clients across a range of sectors.
• Confident identifying and communicating audit risks.
• Previous experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
