Assistant Finance Business Partner
- Location: Belfast City Centre
- Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract | Full-time | Hybrid working
- Salary: £29,822- £31,238 per annum
Reed Recruitment is collaborating with a respected organisation based in Belfast City Centre. They are currently seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their team on a full-time basis for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
This role is crucial for providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial information, contributing to effective decision-making and ensuring our services are financially sustainable and aligned with our organisational strategy.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Business Partnering and Stakeholder Support: Assist Finance Business Partners in delivering proactive and value-adding finance services, enhancing financial understanding and engagement across teams. Build and maintain relationships with service managers to support informed decision-making.
- Financial Reporting, Analysis & Control: Help in preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary. Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and relevant. Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Aid in the preparation and reforecasting of budgets, collaborating with service managers to ensure robust and operationally aligned financial planning.
- Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement: Support the development and implementation of finance systems and tools. Contribute to the enhancement of reporting processes and data quality.
- Governance, Compliance & Audit: Assist in adhering to financial policies and procedures, and support audit processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Financial Sustainability & Funding Support: Prepare financial documentation for funding applications, tenders, and grant reporting, applying full cost recovery principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Actively studying towards a professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, AAT) or possess at least 2 years’ experience in a finance or related discipline.
- Demonstrable skills in using data tools like Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and presenting clear information.
- Experience in financial or numerical analysis, budgeting, and project work.
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to non-specialist audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and initiative to understand issues and identify improvements.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, build relationships, and show a proactive approach to learning and development.
