The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, managing driver schedules, and ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily driver schedules and route allocations.
• Respond swiftly to additional customer requirements and incorporate new orders into existing schedules.
• Coordinate driver and vehicle deployment to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Monitor driver performance, recognising excellence and supporting continuous improvement.
• Ensure all transport operations are carried out in line with legal, environmental, and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of customer service while liaising with drivers, customers, and third-party stakeholders.
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the transport operation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Transport Planning or Transport Operations role.
• Strong knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours, Tachograph Regulations, and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK and Ireland.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year's experience within Transport Operations or Transport Planning preferred.
