Job Title: Regional Business Development Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Responsible for: Designated MPA Recruitment Branches- Belfast, Ballymena and Coleraine.

Scope of Work:
Overall accountability for the Business performance and growth of three designated MPA Recruitment branches. Drive new business, maximise existing contracts and ensure each branch consistently delivers against monthly and annual targets.
This role combines business development, performance management and operational oversight to ensure that branches are effective and delivering sustainable growth.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
· Lead business development activity across designated regions, driving new business opportunities and supporting branch growth.
· Identify, secure, and develop new and existing client relationships across all sectors.
· Deliver against monthly and quarterly branch targets, ensuring opportunities are converted into tangible business outcomes.
· Take ownership of the full lifecycle of new business secured, ensuring effective follow-through, delivery, and collaboration with Branch Managers and teams.
· Maximise value and growth within existing contracts through increased usage, retention, and service expansion.
· Maintain a strong market presence through client engagement, networking, and tender involvement where required.
· Ensure all business development activity, opportunities, and outcomes are accurately recorded and actively managed through MPA systems.
Contract & Client Value management
· Take ownership of the performance and value of key contracts within the region.
· Attend and lead client review meetings for key accounts, ensuring clear communication of performance and delivery.
· Act as Account Lead for designated key contracts, maintaining senior-level relationships and accountability.
· Ensure all client SLAs and KPIs are consistently met or exceeded, working with Branch Managers to address any gaps in delivery.
· Identify and drive opportunities to increase usage, improve margins, and expand service provision within existing contracts.
· Intervene where contract performance is at risk, implementing corrective actions to protect client relationships and MPA’s position.
Branch Performance Management
· Accountable for the business performance of each branch, ensuring delivery against monthly targets.
· Conduct monthly 1:1 performance review meetings with each Branch Manager, setting clear expectations and tracking delivery.
· Implement structured performance routines (weekly check-ins, pipeline reviews, KPI tracking).
· Intervene where performance is off-track and implement corrective action plans.
Performance of Teams
· Take direct responsibility for the performance management and development of Branch Managers, using regular engagement, challenge, and clear expectations to drive results.
· Hold Branch Managers accountable for the performance of their teams, ensuring targets, activity levels, and standards are consistently met.
· Set and enforce clear performance standards across all branches, addressing underperformance promptly and effectively.
· Use structured performance management approaches, including observation, feedback, and action planning, to improve outcomes.
· Build the capability of Branch Managers to effectively manage and develop their own teams.
· Take ownership for addressing underperformance, implementing practical actions and ensuring follow-through.
· Identify capability gaps and, where appropriate, work with HR to support targeted development, with day-to-day performance management remaining the responsibility of this role.
Operational Oversight
· Ensure each branch operates in line with MPA policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
· Maintain oversight of service delivery to protect client relationships and MPA’s reputation.
· Work with other key functions (HR, Compliance, Marketing, finance) to resolve issues impacting performance or delivery.
Recruitment & Team Build
· Support recruitment, interview, and selection of key hires within designated region.
· Ensure branches are structured and resourced to deliver targets.
SMT Responsibilities
As part of the MPA senior management team, the postholder will contribute to the wider direction and performance of the business.
This includes:
· Contributing to company-wide strategy, planning, and decision-making
· Providing clear insight on regional performance, risks, and opportunities
· Supporting delivery of business-wide initiatives (e.g. new markets, service improvements)
· Working with other senior leaders to ensure consistency across MPA branches
· Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and overall business performance reviews
· Acting as a senior representative of MPA internally and externally
· Supporting leadership of people, culture, and standards across the business
