The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the maintenance team in delivering a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues.

You'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, assisting with repairs, and helping ensure the hotel operates to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and guest requests.
• Assist with fault finding, repairs, and general building upkeep.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with statutory regulations.
• Support the maintenance team in maintaining excellent standards across both hotels.
• Help maintain compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
• Work collaboratively with all departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for someone who is practical, proactive, and takes genuine pride in their work.

Skills & Knowledge

Experience in some or all of the following areas:

• Electrical systems
• Plumbing
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
• Boiler operations
• Fire detection and emergency lighting systems
• Kitchen and catering equipment
• Refrigeration systems
• Painting, decorating and finishing works
• General building repairs and maintenance
• Health & Safety compliance

Experience

• Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, engineering, or building services role.
• Experience within hospitality, hotels, leisure, retail, or commercial property environments would be advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out basic repairs.
• A flexible and positive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• A team player who enjoys a varied and active working day.
