Transaction Reporting Team Analyst – Regulatory Reporting

About the Team
The Regulatory Operations team is a centralized unit responsible for the oversight of day-to-day compliance for regulatory reporting, including exception management and risk mitigation for the UK & Europe Region. The team handles the review, action, and oversight of daily regulatory reporting and exception management. This group provides a crucial level of governance to safeguard the firm and its clients regarding their reporting obligations. The team works closely with Compliance, Business, Technology, and Operations to interpret, investigate, and remediate regulatory-related issues, tracking risk through metrics analysis, trending oversight, and timely escalation.
The Role
As a Junior Analyst, you will be a key member of the team, learning how to monitor key processes that ensure the firm meets its regulatory reporting obligations. You will be trained to review transaction reporting exceptions and will work closely with supervisors in Belfast to identify and highlight issues. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build strong working relationships with various teams—including Operations, Technology, and Compliance—while developing a foundational understanding of proactive governance and control management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monitoring of the firm’s submission data and exceptions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of regulatory reporting.
- Assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements by learning and applying the correct procedures.
- Help the team with the analysis of key controls and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for future enhancements.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to support a proactive approach to exception management.
- Partner with internal teams to assist with issue documentation, testing, and resolution.
- Engage with colleagues across different departments to foster partnerships and develop communication skills.
Requirements & Experience
- A recent graduate with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- An interest in data analysis and working with large volumes of data.
- A basic understanding of, or willingness to learn about, control environments and exception-based processing.
- A demonstrable interest in financial services, regulatory reporting, or risk and control is advantageous.
- Analytical and numerate ability to research and identify large and complex issues.
- Good Microsoft skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- GCSE “A” Level standard or equivalent is mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
- Note: Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
