Graduate Food Quality Assurance Specialist – 4 Day Week

£31 - 32k (£34-35k OTE)

Northeast Belfast

39 Hours Per Week Monday – Thursday, Overtime Available at Time and a Half


Do you come from a Food Science, Food Safety or similar Degree and want to progress a career in Quality Assurance with a business that can help with gaining valuable skills such as supplier audits and major retailer audit-readiness?


This well-established dairy business supplies a range of widely recognised products to retailers as well as high-profile international restaurant chains. As a result of steady expansion, they are looking for a driven individual who can gradually take over sitewide QA & QC responsibilities.


With training being provided by the Technical Director, you will be involved in carrying out various checks such as Hygiene, GMP and HACCP, as well as working directly with Production staff to provide technical guidance and support. You will also support with audit-readiness for BRC and customer audits, and will liaise with the wider Technical team for factory trials & NPD.


The ideal candidate will come from a relevant Degree such as Food Science or Food Safety – preferably with some practical work experience gained through a placement – and will have a demonstrable appetite for self-development and a willingness to learn.

What you’ll be doing day:

  • Upholding Food Safety, Quality and H&S standards across site, ensuring compliance with internal, legislative and customer requirements
  • Carrying out HACCP checks and ensuring SOPs are adhered to
  • Investigating non-conformances and complaints, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement
  • Supporting audits, customer visits and factory trials
  • Collaborating with Technical team to provide additional support in things such as NPD and new product launches


What we’re looking for:

  • Coming from a relevant Degree such as Food Science, Food Safety, Food Design etc.
  • Ideally holding some experience through a placement/internship in Food Safety / QA
  • HACCP, Food Safety or Food Hygiene qualifications are highly advantageous
  • Right to Work in the UK without sponsorship in the future
