Technical Test Lead
- Belfast (3 days onsite per week)
- Contract, up to £535pd Outside IR35

We are supporting a major client in Belfast who are looking to appoint two Technical Test Leads to join an early-stage, high-profile programme. This is a hands-on delivery role sitting within a technical programme team, with strong focus on testing execution, coordination and quality assurance across multiple systems.

Our client is looking for individuals who can stay close to delivery, actively drive testing activity and work across technical and business stakeholders to ensure readiness for release.

The Technical Test Lead will take ownership of end-to-end testing across defined systems and releases, including SIT, UAT and integration testing. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering test strategy at a practical level, ensuring full coverage, traceability and readiness across all test phases. The programme is currently in its infancy so this is a strong opportunity to influence testing approach, structure and delivery standards from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute test approach across SIT, UAT and integration testing
• Coordinate test planning, scenario design and execution tracking
• Ensure full requirements-to-test traceability across delivery phases
• Manage defects, triage cycles, prioritisation and escalation across multiple teams
• Provide clear test status reporting, quality metrics and go-live readiness updates
• Engage closely with developers, data teams, infrastructure, vendors and business users
• Support environment readiness discussions and test data availability
• Contribute to test governance, standards and continuous improvement
• Support readiness decisions including release and go/no-go recommendations

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Test Manager/Senior QA/Technical Test Lead
• Strong background in UAT, SIT and integration testing
• Comfortable working in both manual and automation testing environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to operate in an early-stage/evolving programme environment
• Experience working across complex technical landscapes (e.g. data-heavy or integration-led programmes)
• Utilities sector experience is a bonus, not essential
