Following a period of transformation and growth at Royal Mail, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Strategic Sales team as Key Account Manager based in the Northwest. You will lead a defined portfolio of approximately 20 high-value customers through a strategic and relationship-driven approach. You will be responsible for maximising revenue growth, retaining key accounts, and delivering business-critical initiatives across parcels, international and letter services. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver bespoke solutions that drive commercial success.

You will lead a defined portfolio of approximately 20 high-value customers through a strategic and relationship-driven approach. You will be responsible for maximising revenue growth, retaining key accounts, and delivering business-critical initiatives across parcels, international and letter services. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver bespoke solutions that drive commercial success.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio generating £35m+ in annual revenue
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients across retail, e-commerce & public sector.
- Drive revenue growth to meet commercial targets by identifying up/cross selling opportunities, leading contract negotiations on renewals, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Implement sales and portfolio planning tools to increase customer value and satisfaction
- Mitigate competitor influence through tailored pricing and product strategies
- Champion the deployment of new products, campaigns, and commercial solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Operations, and Customer Success
- Accurately report revenue forecasts and maintain CRM to sales standard
- Ensure alignment with Royal Mail’s reward, recognition and compliance policies
- High levels of business acumen with the ability to identify and act on commercial trends
- Strong planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to manage high-value clients in a complex, performance-focused environment
- Effective negotiator with a keen focus on driving revenue and delivering customer value
- Self-starter with resilience and the ability to operate autonomously
- Competence in written communication and commercial proposal development
- Experience managing major accounts and driving long-term client growth
