Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland Employment Type: Full-Time, On-SiteAbout the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated and solutions-oriented Supplier Recovery Specialist to join our aerospace operations team in Belfast. In this critical role, you will lead recovery efforts with suppliers facing delivery or quality challenges, ensuring continuity of production and supporting long-term supplier performance improvement. Key Responsibilities Supplier Recovery & Issue ResolutionAct as the primary point of contact for suppliers experiencing critical delivery or quality issues (e.g., AOG, production stoppages).
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams. Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement robust recovery plans, including:Accelerated production strategies (e.g., overtime, additional shifts). Enhanced quality controls and temporary containment actions.
Expedited logistics and alternative transport solutions. Allocation of critical resources (e.g., engineering support, tooling). Performance Monitoring & ReportingTrack recovery progress using KPIs and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
Escalate unresolved issues to senior leadership when necessary. Capture lessons learned and ensure implementation of preventive actions to avoid recurrence. Industrial Audits & Capability Assessments Audit ExecutionPlan and conduct audits based on supplier risk, performance, and strategic importance.
Perform:System Audits (e.g., AS/EN 9100, ISO 9001 compliance). Process Audits (e.g., special processes like welding, NDT, heat treatment). Product Audits to verify compliance with design and quality standards.
Industrial Capability & Capacity Assessments (IPCA+) to evaluate readiness for ramp-up and future demand. Transfer of Work (ToW) Assessments to validate readiness for production transfers.
Non-Conformance & Risk ManagementDocument audit findings, raise non-conformances, and agree on corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs). Follow up on CAPA implementation and effectiveness. Identify risks and improvement opportunities to inform supplier development strategies.
Tools & MethodologiesUse internal audit platforms and industry standards (e.g., AS/EN 9101, Nadcap). Apply structured problem-solving and quality assurance tools. What
You’ll BringExperience in supplier quality, recovery, or industrial auditing within aerospace or a similar high-reliability industry. Strong knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics. Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
