GMPE Implementations Project Manager (Pensions Admin)

We are looking for an experienced project manager to join our pensions administration business, driving and monitoring the delivery of GMPE Implementation projects across over 300 schemes.

GMP Equalisation is a legislative requirement for DB Pension Schemes and we have just started to implement our first clients. We need an experienced project manager, ideally with experience of GMPE end to end projects or Implementations, who can lead the Administration Workstream of the delivery project including the management of workflows between teams, resourcing and financial management, as well as supporting client discussions where needed. This role will be based within the Project Implementations Team and will work closely with both projects, Actuarial and Consulting and BAU admin teams to deliver and provide reporting to the wider business. This role will support a team of project analysts and administrators collaborating with different areas of the business.

This new role can be based in any of our city centre offices with a hybrid workstyle.

What does the role entail?

  • Plan, lead, prioritise and manage the delivery of GMPE Implementation projects, informing pipeline and resourcing needs
  • Supports the wider business to scope and plan for future project needs and deliverables.
  • Adopts changes resulting from Regulation, Standards and Industry Guidance evolution
  • Supports the Project Implementations Manager to manage each project end to end.
  • Act as a point of accountability for the successful delivery of projects within the portfolio and act as a point of escalation for the team delivering the projects
  • Support the day to day activities of the team with technical oversight for complex pension requirements.
  • Support the management of the GMPE Programme including allocating projects and tasks, reviewing performance, providing internal communication, coaching identify training needs and provide line management support
  • Attendance at client and/or trustee meetings where required
  • Support the development and implementation of project delivery processes development and support continuous improvement
  • Support the development of project pricing and financial monitoring
  • Ensure all projects adhere to quality assurance processes and meet quality assurance requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a view project delivery over the portfolio
  • Provide problem solving solutions and remove barriers or blockers to successful delivery
  • Identify and manage project delivery risks

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a project management role in the pension industry and knowledge of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes
  • Previous experience in managing portfolios of projects or in managing a team of DB pension administrators
  • Excellent knowledge of Pension data projects
  • Strong technical pensions and legislative knowledge and understanding.
  • Experience of GMPE Projects (preferred)
