The Role

We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join the Proofpoint Tessian Engineering Group in our Inbound Threat Engineering team. The Tessian product suite offers inbound threat defence software, via API, to Microsoft or Google e-mail platforms, as well as a data loss prevention (DLP) service that utilises Machine Learning for maximum protection.

You’ll join at an exciting time as we scale our services and expand our reach. Expect to collaborate with passionate engineers across multiple teams, help us integrate deeper into the Proofpoint ecosystem, and scale to protect even more customers.

Your day-to-day

In the ITE Team we deeply embrace the DevOps culture, as we design, build, test, deploy and monitor our services. Our day to day involves developing the email scanning flow to quickly and accurately provide protection to users in real time. We ensure that the correct remediation can take place before the user is placed at risk, and follow up with providing metadata to other systems to be visualized etc.

You’ll have the opportunity to

• Design and build reliable distributed systems that handle volumes of data with low latency.
• Maintain and support business-critical systems where scale and latency are front-of-mind.
• Contribute code to production regularly using our CI/CD pipeline
• Address challenges related to processing highly sensitive data in a secure and privacy-conscious way.
• Learn to build with security in mind.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor peers in a supportive way, contribute to design reviews, and collaborate on solving complex challenges.

Essential Experience

What you bring to the team

• Proven experience with Python for backend development
• Extensive experience with AWS Services
• Experience with Docker for creating and deploying containers
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects
  
  

Beneficial Experience

• High volume NoSQL and SQL databases such as; Dynamo DB, Postgres
• Terraform built environments
• Experience working with data and infrastructure at scale
• Event driven architecture such as Kafka/Kinesis
