As Senior Manager of the Order Scheduling team at Ciena, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting the Order Scheduling function in their responsibilities related to Supply Assurance, Revenue Assurance and achieving service performance targets across multiple product portfolios. You will act as a key liaison within the Supply Chain, driving collaboration, process improvements, and performance excellence to meet customer shipment commitments and secure revenue. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Supply Chain Operations, and the ability to foster positive working relationships across global teams.

This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Supply Chain Operations, and the ability to foster positive working relationships across global teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Global Fulfillment Leaders and Order Schedulers as they address supply commit shortages, secure scheduled ship dates, project deployment timelines, and ship plan targets.
- Create and present executive-level summaries of current supply status, issues, and impacts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively communicate schedule impacts and recovery timing to ensure customer needs are met.
- Define, review, and implement order promising and allocation processes to align with business requirements.
- Interface with Supply Planning teams on a weekly basis to review Vendor Drive vs Demand plan fill.
- Manage key performance indicators related to service performance and drive root cause analysis and improvement initiatives.
- Identify, validate, and support supply chain process improvements to enhance lead-time reduction, on-time delivery, and scalability.
- Foster collaborative relationships across global teams to ensure service performance attainment and customer ship dates are met.
- Drive Digital Transformation within the Order Scheduling function, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure on-time customer shipments.
- Prepare analysis and reports for Leadership regarding the product portfolio.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, with a focus on Supply Planning, Master Scheduling, Customer Order Promising, Supply Assurance, or Order Fulfillment.
- Thorough understanding of MRP/ERP systems, Materials Management, Planning, or Scheduling standards and procedures.
- Experience in the use of Kinaxis/Rapid Response applications would be highly beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skills) and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and remain focused under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with a bias for action and a self-starter mentality.
