Our client, a leader in the maritime sector, is currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their team in Belfast. This permanent position focuses on developing advanced energy solutions for the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and uphold core systems engineering processes and capabilities within the business.
- Author, elicit, and manage accurate stakeholder requirements for Energy Solution products.
- Perform and coordinate analysis of system requirements, including Use Case analysis, functional analysis, robustness, and safety analysis.
- Liaise with technical specialists to deliver the architectural design of Energy Solution products, ensuring a robust system architecture that fulfils challenging stakeholder requirements.
- Produce and maintain traceable systems documentation such as User, Product, and System Requirements Specifications.
- Maintain and interact with Systems Models, ensuring systems artefacts are generated, controlled, and linked consistently across projects.
- Manage requirements through development and product lifecycle.
- Introduce new technology and methods to the business where appropriate.
- Holder of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering).
- Experience in Systems Engineering functions with experience in electrification or e-mobility technology.
- Technical skills in Systems Engineering within robust development and process frameworks (e.g., INCOSE, ASPICE).
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
- Experience in requirements management methods and tools.
- Experience with Enterprise Architect and Jama Connect is desirable.
- Understanding of Functional Safety and/or Cybersecurity.
- Specialism in electrification technologies, particularly Lithium-Ion Battery Systems, Battery Management Systems, and EV Charging Systems.
