Job Description

Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce. We operate the world’s most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people. The Opportunity:

We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of cutting-edge payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.

Essential Functions:

  • Asks clarifying questions about requirements, documents requirements, and communicates them to the team for a component.

  • Works under close guidance to implement basic enhancements and modifications to existing software that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.

  • Learns about automations that improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools.

  • Engages with team members to receive feedback on code.

  • Participates in code review processes for self-development, gathers feedback, and learns about coding standards and the team's features.

  • Follows instructions from manager to implement improvements to code, processes, and designs with and understands customer/business objectives.

  • Uses appropriate techniques and executes test plans to identify and resolve defects within one or more feature areas.

  • Contribute to the implementation of best-fit automation framework and corresponding tests. Write utilities/automation tools using Java.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 1 year work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
  • Experience in more of the following technologies - Java, Spring MVC, SpringBoot, MySQL, Maven, Design Patterns, Test Automation framework
  • Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.
  • Experience with agile development incorporating continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Strong facilitation and analytical skills with excellent problem-solving ability
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication
  • Passionate about delivering zero defect code that meet or exceed the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness of one’s own deliverables and team deliverables
  • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
  • Be systematic and be able to do deep research wanting to uncover the details
  • Have good work ethics, and be a team player to bring the best results as a
  • Experience with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, and Jenkins
  • Experience with successful design, architecture and development using Hadoop, and Spark and Scala for large data processing and transaction systems.
  • Experience with Restful API development
  • Expertise in web applications and webservices, technology standards and frameworks
  • Experienced in test-driven development and test automation and manual testing
  • Experience with build automation tools - Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven is required, Knowledge of Code Coverage tools like Ecl/Emma or SonarQube are desired.
  • Experience in card industry or fintech delivering solutions in fraud, risk or payments space will be added advantage.
  • Experience in developing large scale, enterprise class distributed systems of high availability, low latency, & strong data consistency
  • Experience developing instrumentation for software components, to help facilitate real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.
