We are seeking to recruit a Digital Preservation Officer to join our well-established team in the McClay Library.
The award-winning McClay Library, opened in 2009 and situated at the heart of the University’s main campus, offers 24-hour access during term-time, with over 2,000 study spaces, 33 group study rooms, and a student lounge. It houses almost 1.2 million books and e-books, as well as the University’s Special Collections and Archives. The library attracts around 6,000 visitors daily during term-time.
As the Digital Preservation Officer, you will develop the Digital Asset Register, support the setup and implementation of the Digital Preservation Platform, and deliver advocacy and training to ensure staff are aware of digital preservation practices.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) or substantial relevant experience, including experience producing documentation for end users, developing or delivering training, and working with metadata, bibliographic data, or cataloguing.
- At least two years’ recent (within the last 5 years) relevant experience in these areas.
- Excellent digital literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Office and demonstrable experience with IT applications in a workplace setting.
