As we win new work, our workload increases, providing an exciting opportunity to join our established Belfast Engineering team. You will be responsible for the design and management of mechanical building services projects in complex buildings, including refurbishments. In some cases, you will be part of a larger team on major projects, as well as managing your own projects.


The role:



  • Responsible for delivering engineering design solutions covering all aspects of mechanical building services engineering consultancy.

  • Manage the process from concept to site and through commissioning.

  • Perform calculations and coordinate mechanical services with high accuracy.

  • Work within a team delivering complex, large-scale projects.

  • Operate across sectors including commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education, and leisure within both public and private domains.

  • Mentor and support junior staff, including Graduates and Apprentices.

  • Understand contractual matters, project management, team management, and change control.


About You:


You should have relevant education and experience in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field, and be a member of CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or an equivalent professional body. Relevant design experience will also be considered.



  • Ability to lead meetings with clients and contractors through all project stages.

  • Experience in design and supervision of projects.

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.

  • Experience in design and management of projects.

  • Experience in the health, education, and/or defence sectors is advantageous.

  • Current driving license.

  • Ability to work within a team on major complex projects throughout the UK.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; REVIT experience is a plus.

  • Understanding of IES or other thermal modelling software.

  • Energy Assessor capabilities are welcomed.

  • Understanding of BREEAM on M&E Services.

  • Experience with Hevacomp or other calculation software.

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland for project work; international travel is a plus.

  • Willingness to obtain necessary Security Clearances is beneficial.
