Environmental Facilities Engineer - #1750315

MCS Group is looking for a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading Manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

In this diverse and impactful role, you'll work across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, delivering measurable improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.

You will;

• Ensure all plant and facility systems are compliant with relevant legislation and industry best practices.


• Manage a range of service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.


• Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting and ensure all environmental incidents or concerns are investigated and addressed.


• Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and overall environmental impact.


• Coordinate with suppliers to source competitive, efficient equipment and services.


• Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to senior leadership.


• Liaise with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, permits, and funding opportunities.


• Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead implementation of approved projects.


• Conduct risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

• Degree level educated, with a technical degree in Engineering, Environmental etc


• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
