We are seeking a skilled Buyer/Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team, specialising in the Civ il Marine Sector with a focus on vessels and onboard systems.
This is a contract role, inside IR35, based in Belfast, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with industry leaders in the procurement of marine-specific equipment and services.

Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for vessels and onboard systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimise supply chain efficiencies.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate existing ones.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in all procurement activities.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and finance teams, to support project requirements.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance, addressing any issues proactively.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to improve cost savings and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, preferably within the marine, shipbuilding, or offshore industries.
- Strong understanding of vessel components, onboard systems, and maritime supply chains.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
- Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and manage budgets effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or remote working environment - noting that the initial 2 weeks must be supported on site in Belfast
