Job Overview

VANRATH are assisting our client in the recruitment of a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to join their vibrant and inclusive school community in Belfast. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, helping ensure that all pupils are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in the delivery of the curriculum


• Support pupils individually or in small groups, including those with additional learning needs


• Help to maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment


• Prepare learning materials and resources


• Assist with record-keeping and pupil assessments as required


• Supervise pupils during break times, outings, and school activities


• Promote positive behaviour and inclusion across the classroom

Essential Critieria

• Qualified as a Classroom Assistant with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.


• GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualifications in both subjects.


• At least one year's relevant experience working in a classroom or educational setting.


• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support pupil learning and wellbeing.


• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities in a school setting.
