Subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvals


Overall, a Production Manager prepares for the future and re-enforces a customer mindset whilst deploying digital solutions to enhance efficiency and achieve developmental milestones in line with customer expectations. This includes developing and deploying industrial requirements for product evolutions.


The Production Manager identifies the skills and competencies required to cope with future challenges whilst improving people engagement and maintaining and developing personal and team ethics and compliance standards and leadership.


This role will have the breadth and resources to shape how manufacturing operates and how materials flow on the shop floor. It is an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing professional seeking a challenging role in a high tech environment with the support and resources available to succeed.
 


RESPONSIBILITES
 



  • Ensures the utmost safety of people, for example through the People Safety at Work initiative, and the product through the quality management system


  • Leads change to drive a diverse and inclusive team environment


  • Delivers improvement projects to achieve unit cost of production targets


  • Focusses on the elimination of waste in pursuit of tangible customer recognised value


  • Ensures that all leaders drive effective performance management, placing a strong focus on behavioural, process and value standards


  • Creates and drives a truly effective partnership approach with local Trade Unions, governing bodies, academic institutions and internal and external plant stakeholders


  • Ensures that all business facilities remain fully compliant with site procedures and legal requirements as well as improving processes and reducing the exposure to accidents and risks


  • Ensures that there is a common approach to the engagement of external consultants that drives value for money and a consistent output




ABOUT YOU



  • Experience in high volume/high variety production of complex aircraft products and systems is essential


  • Time spent leading and improving a skilled team to deliver consistently high performance through people management.


  • Integrity in line with company values to deal with Ethics and Compliance issues


  • Provides leadership to operational teams including support functions


  • Motivates employees to achieve production goals including implementation of any new policies and procedures relating to the production process


  • Ensures key performance indicators are in place and production targets are met


  • Manages budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process


  • Ensures that communication within and between departments is ongoing to build relationships


  • Promotes engagement and trust to maintain an environment of continuous improvement


  • Fosters an environment of teamwork to ensure that all products are delivered on time and company goals are met


  • Supports the company in production planning and making sure the business is adequately resourced
