Maintenance Technician - Agri-Food Industry

Location: Belfast
Salary: £46k (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

MCS Group is pleased to be recruiting a maintenance technician for a leading agri-food company and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of their production facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a dynamic and fast-paced environment for one of the top manufacturing companies in Northern Ireland.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventive and reactive maintenance of all equipment on-site, with a focus on material handling transfer conveyors and elevators. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will help drive efficiency and reliability across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.


• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults across PLCs, safety circuits, control systems, and SCADA-controlled equipment.


• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and optimise equipment performance.


• Ensure all engineering work is carried out in line with Health & Safety legislation.

What We Are Looking For

• Completed an approved apprenticeship with relevant Mechanical/Electrical qualifications or a degree in a relevant discipline.


• Industrial maintenance experience in a mechanical or electrical role.


• Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.


• Experience working with PLCs, safety circuits, SCADA, and motor controls.


• Strong knowledge of risk assessments, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and isolation methods.


• Full Driving Licence.
