MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

An exciting opportunity for a driven, sales leader to join the rapidly expanding Business Applications Practice at Kainos, one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies.

The Business Development Manager/Director is a new business sales role within the Business Applications Practice to define and execute the go-to-market strategy of Business Applications and Business Application services across the Healthcare Sector.

As a Business Applications Business Development Manager/Director in Kainos, you will take a lead role in the Healthcare Sector Business Development team, operating as an individual, being responsible for growing our customer base and delivering our business development strategy. Having UK Public Healthcare expertise is essential for this role. 

You will generate opportunity by developing an extensive network of industry contacts including senior stakeholders within the Central NHS, Trusts and Private Healthcare space.  



Through your existing network, existing Kainos stakeholder relationships within our client base and leveraging connections through our Kainos Digital Services Healthcare Practice, you will lead strategic Business Development, ensuring cross-selling opportunities are maximised. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Business Development team as well as colleagues from other areas of the business including delivery, commercial, marketing and operations, owning opportunity management from first conversation to contract.  

Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager/Director is a strategic role in the Business Applications Practice, reporting the Business Applications BD Lead with responsibilities including:

  • Developing the Business Applications services offerings and ‘go-to-market’ strategy for Healthcare Sector.
  • Manage and take ownership of the sales pipeline, qualifying and prioritising opportunities that will deliver sales against Business Applications services target.
  • Lead pre-sales activities including lead generation and asset development for Business Applications Healthcare Sector services.
  • Be an individual sales contributor for the Business Applications Practice.
  • Collaborate with existing business development and account teams to sell Business Applications and Business Application services to our Healthcare Sector customers and prospects.
  • Contribute to key account planning sessions to ensure Business Applications offerings are well promoted and positioned for success.
  • Promote Kainos externally as a Business Applications leader, developing new campaigns and events.
  • Be a critical ambassador for Kainos externally and will embrace and promote the culture, values and behaviours that makes Kainos unique.

Requirements

We are looking for a success driven, self-starter who is passionate about using Business Applications to solve customer challenges.

They Will

  • Have significant experience selling Microsoft Business Applications (Power Platform and/or Microsoft Dynamics), CRM or Intelligent Automation related services.
  • Have 5+ years proven success in new business technology services sales, having taken accountability for delivering against financial targets.
  • Be proficient at consultant-led selling, capable of engaging with senior customers and prospects to understand business problems.
  • Have experience developing new business offerings.
  • Have significant experience of selling into the UK Healthcare Sector, especially within the central NHS organisations and Trusts.
  • Be customer success focused, with proven ability to help customers deliver value from technology.
  • Be a team player, able to collaborate well with other sales, Business Applications subject matter experts and software engineers.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of the sales process and deal commercials including constructing complex commercial offers.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering against targets (quarterly and annually).
  • Have demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level.
  • Ability to operate in a highly competitive and pressurised environment, making sensible decisions that don’t compromise Kainos.
  • Have excellent negotiation skills, both from a commercial and contract perspective as well as a proven ability to resolve escalations and diffuse issues.
  • Have excellent networking skills and an ability to generate meetings with new prospects.
  • Have excellent writing and presentation skills – especially the ability to articulate a complex proposition in a concise, clear and compelling way.
  • Have strong leadership and influencing skills – the ability to lead a multi-functional bid team, to influence key Kainos and customer stakeholders.
