About the role

As a Retail Assistant at Boots Opticians, you will be a key member of our store team, serving as the first and last point of contact for customers. Your role on the shopfloor involves building strong relationships by listening to and understanding customer needs to recommend suitable products or services. Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with eye-test pre-screening, and helping customers find the right eyewear solutions.

You will have opportunities to develop your knowledge through our industry-leading ‘Step Into Optics’ training programme, which combines workshops and practical on-the-job experience.

You will also be involved in:

  1. Ordering, dispensing, and collecting glasses and contact lenses

  2. Supporting eye-tests and pre-screening activities

  3. Providing aftercare support, including repairs and adjustments

  4. Handling operational and administrative tasks related to dispensing prescriptions

You will be based in-store and report to the store manager.

What you’ll need to have:

  • A passion for customer care

  • A desire to learn

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience in a retail or clinical environment

  • Discretionary quarterly bonus

  • Generous employee discounts for you and a second person (terms and conditions apply)

  • Opportunities for clinical and non-clinical career development

  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and a gift card for expecting or adopting parents

  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme

We offer a range of benefits to suit your needs. Find out more at boots.jobs/rewards. Please note, salary estimates on third-party sites may not be accurate.
