As part of our continued support to a major customer in the aerospace industry, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aerospace Fuselage Quality Engineer to ensure the structural integrity, compliance, and quality of aircraft fuselage systems and components. This role involves overseeing inspection processes, resolving production quality issues, supporting root cause analyses, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations
The role will be based on-site at the customer’s facility in Belfast. This is a contract position that has been deemed as outside IR35, the rate will be dependent on experience, seniority etc.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance standards and procedures specific to fuselage structures.
- Perform inspections and audits of fuselage components during manufacturing, assembly, and pre-delivery.
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to validate conformance.
- Investigate non-conformities and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics for fuselage components.
- Support supplier quality management for fuselage-related parts and materials.
- Participate in Material Review Boards (MRB) and disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing quality, preferably with fuselage structures.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with GD&T, CATIA/3D CAD software, and technical drawing interpretation.
- Familiarity with composite and/or metallic fuselage materials and joining techniques.
- Proficient in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
