This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a high performer that likes to deliver excellent service to Customers, whilst supporting the Bank in the risk assessment and approval of good credit quality proposals. Northridge Finance is a 7 day a week business and as such, a level of weekend working is an essential part of this role.
Whilst the team is primarily based in Belfast, other UK locations may be considered.
In This Role You Will
Previous experience operating a lending mandate or discretions in either secured or unsecured lending.
Having a flexible approach to working hours, including working some weekends and additional hours during high levels of volume
Strong communication and influencing skills when communicating decisions or repositioning applications

The UK Underwriting Department within Retail UK Operations provides support to both the UK Mortgage business and Northridge Finance (Motor, Consumer and SME asset finance) by underwriting all new and existing business applications. These businesses operate in a highly competitive market, delivering excellent credit quality, supported by a strong service propositions. Critical to this is maintaining Service Level Agreements with intermediaries & direct customers and working in partnership with the Mortgage and Northridge Senior Management teams. The Northridge Finance business is open 7 days per week 362 days per annum.

In This Role You Will
- Assess and approve, reject or reposition proposals submitted by our intermediary partners within your agreed lending discretions. Where appropriate, recommending and justifying exceptions to policy.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Northridge Credit Policy and Criteria, ensuring compliance to relevant policy and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including colleagues in our Sales and Credit Teams.
- Underwrite new business proposals within agreed Service Levels, focussing on Customer Service at all times and providing input into new ways of optimising our service to all stakeholders.
