Team/Role Overview
Citigroup is looking for an experienced individual to support the firm’s oversight of compliance with UK/EU Market Abuse Regulation (‘MAR’) and US Prohibition On Use Of Manipulative Or Deceptive Practices (e.g. SEC 10b-5) - across all impacted business units, functions and geographies (e.g. Markets, Banking, Wealth, Client, Services).
This role reports into the regulatory lead responsible for these regulations. It sits in the first line of defense within Markets, as part of a broader specialist team who oversee some of the most critical regulations for Citi (e.g. MiFID, EMIR, Swap Dealer). The successful candidate will be expected to partner closely with global stakeholders from across all lines of defence.
What you’ll do
The role will involve managing a portion of the regulatory lead’s diverse portfolio, providing leadership, defining solutions, driving remediation plans, sharing technical expertise and securing buy-in from a diverse range of global stakeholders. e.g.
Control Framework: Support the identification, remediation and overall management of associated control frameworks.
Risk Monitoring: Develop, operationalise and monitor relevant metrics, in order to provide effective oversight of a complex business / control environment.
Regulatory Change: Identify, monitor and coordinate delivery of regulatory change / developments, from impact assessment through to implementation.
Governance: Support the operation of periodic governance routines, which provide firm-wide, horizontal oversight of compliance with these regulations.
What we’ll need from you
Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, risks and controls regarding MAR and/or Prohibition. e.g. market manipulation, insider trading, securities fraud, trade surveillance, information barriers.
Experience working on complex regulatory remediation programmes, with challenging timelines to meet regulatory expectations.
Understanding of risk management practices, including risk identification, control design and evaluation of controls.
Resilience, self-motivation and ability to work effectively in a complex organisation.
