About The Job
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in TedTech you are responsible for the quality of the Insurtech products within your Pod.
At TedTech we pride ourselves on writing high quality, enterprise grade, distributed software solutions that are secure, efficient, scalable, and well architected to allow for ease of reuse and modification. You are well versed in designing, and implementing both manual and automated testing of distributed software solutions. You are responsible for ensuring that the Quality of your Pod meet your high standards and that these are upkept.You have experience delivering high quality solutions and are well versed in test automation suites. Automated testing is second nature to you, and you appreciate the benefits that it brings.
You have a strong understanding of various types of testing and will be responsible for developing automated end-to-end, performance, and security tests, ensuring seamless integration with third-party software. While developers may write unit tests, you will validate their accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
Version control, CI/CD pipelines, and project tracking tools are integral to your workflow. You have an understanding of these processes and leverage them to drive quality, efficiency, and collaboration within the development lifecycle.
You are a professional that understands business needs, you know how to accommodate timelines, and know when and how to say “no”.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using modern test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and cloud services.
- Maintain robust test automation frameworks for functional, integration, performance, and security testing.
- Collaborate with software engineers, Platform engineers, and product teams to define test scenarios and ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
- Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated tests for continuous quality validation.
- Ensure high test coverage across unit, component, and end-to-end levels to support rapid and reliable releases.
- Work with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to validate infrastructure and cloud service integrations.
- Design and execute performance and load testing to assess system scalability and reliability.
- Focus efforts on shift-left testing, incorporating early-stage quality validations in Agile development processes.
- Champion best practices in test-driven development (TDD), behaviour-driven development (BDD), and exploratory testing.
- Understand the results of tests and resolve any problems.
- Ensure there is a high level of confidence before deploying new code, and raise any concerns or issues with the team.
- Mentor and guide members of your Pod on Quality matters to elevate overall Quality within your team.
- A minimal requirement for post-deployment testing outside of regular business hours.
- Experience in software test automation and quality engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript or C#.
- Expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
- Strong experience in cloud-based applications and microservices testing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Knowledge of database testing NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, MongoDB etc).
- Experience in performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6, or similar).
- Understanding of security testing principles and tools (OWASP, Burp Suite, SonarQube, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
